Black Country Brighter Lives is the registered charity for Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It exists to add extra value to the services that we are funded to provide to our patients, their families and our amazing staff that care for them.

This might be through enhancing treatment and recovery of our patients and making their stay more comfortable, supporting the health and wellbeing of the people that use our services, enhancing the buildings and grounds of the facilities where we deliver care, supporting vital research and training or providing activities for patients and their families on the wards or in the community.

Our charity can make a real difference to the lives of the people that use our services, our staff and the wider Black Country community. We could not achieve what we do without you.

You can support our charity in different ways.

Could you be one of our Brighter Lives heroes?

Here are at Brighter Lives we are always looking for people to support us in the work we do across the trust, whether it be directly helping groups such as the dementia choir, improving spaces with creative murals, a new sensory room or maybe something completely new!

Money raised through the campaign will directly go to projects that support patients and staff such as providing therapeutic activities on wards, supporting research, boosting the wellbeing of our staff and enhancing the buildings and grounds where we provide care.

Why not ask your colleagues, friends and family to get involved and help raise money for mental health, learning disabilities and autism across the Black Country.

Discuss your ideas with Charity Engagement Officer, Manisha Patel who can also help support and promote your fundraising efforts.

We are proud to launch the ‘Spring Into Action’ campaign to call on people across the Black Country to be fundraising heroes for our Trust charity.

Throughout the months of March to May, we hope people across the Black Country will take on a fundraising challenge. Learn more on our campaign website page.

Fundraising and a successful grant application enabled us to establish a dementia choir in Sandwell (open to residents from across the Black Country) which ran in 2024 and has returned in 2025.  Watch our Shine a Light dementia singing group in action.
