Reflexions provide preventative and early intervention mental health support within Education Settings for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

We work with children and young people who may need support with:

  • Presentations related to anxiety/worry or low mood
  • Sleep difficulties in the context of anxiety or low mood
  • Anxiety/avoidance
  • Panic attacks
  • Parent-led intervention for support with child or young person’s symptoms relating to anxiety
  • Support in understanding emotions and managing relationship with emotions

Working with children and young people and/or their parents: Reflexions provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions. CBT focuses on your thoughts and behaviours, and how these impact on your emotional wellbeing. We work with children and young people to help them understand their difficulties and support them to learn skills to manage them.

Working with Education Settings: Reflexions work alongside the Senior Mental Health Lead and Education Staff to identify, discuss and plan for children and young people‘s mental health and emotional wellbeing needs

Reflexions is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) working in Education Settings across the Black Country to provide preventive and early intervention mental health support to children and young people from Reception to Year 13 (4 years to 19 years old).

Children, young people, parents/carers and teachers.

Education staff can utilise the consultation slots with the allocated Reflexions practitioner to discuss potential referrals. The Reflexions referral form should be completed and sent to the relevant Single Point of Access (SPA) Team. Contact details for the SPA Teams can be found on the Reflexions referral form. Reflexions professionals will consider the needs of the children and young people and whether or not Reflexions can best meet their needs or whether another service from elsewhere in the Thrive spectrum is best placed to help.

  • Professional within the education setting i.e. Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Pastoral Lead, Safeguarding Lead, Senior Leadership Team, SENCO, School Nurse, Family Liaison Officer, Family Support Worker, Social Worker in liaison with School Mental Health Lead
  • Young person, parent/carer/guardian via a school professional in liaison with the School Mental Health Lead
  • Educational Psychologist in liaison with School Mental Health Lead
  • CAMHS services

We also offer School Holiday Provisions such as workshops to support emotional wellbeing and mental health during the school holidays.
