The Black Country recently hosted the successful launch of four WorkWell Partnership stakeholder events, held across Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, and Walsall. These impactful events introduced stakeholders to the transformative WorkWell programme, which focuses on providing early intervention for residents facing barriers to gaining or retaining employment due to health conditions or disabilities.
Designed to foster collaboration, the events brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including healthcare providers, community leaders, and local organisations. Each session provided an opportunity to explore the benefits and accessibility of WorkWell. Attendees gained invaluable insights into how the programme connects individuals with essential resources, mental health and wellbeing support, and tailored solutions designed to address community-specific needs.
Key highlights of the events included interactive sessions that encouraged dialogue on embedding WorkWell services across the boroughs. Attendees actively participated in discussions on how to maximise the programme’s impact, ensuring that the communities within the Black Country receive the support they need.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the collaborative approach and expressing enthusiasm for ongoing partnerships. The events highlighted a shared commitment to enhancing health and wellbeing through employment support, underscoring the importance of accessible care and early intervention.
Dale Stewart, WorkWell Learning and Change Manager said, “The success of these events reflects the collective dedication of our stakeholders and partners to improve opportunities for individuals facing health-related barriers.
"By focusing on health and wellbeing through employment support, WorkWell is fostering more inclusive opportunities and strengthening community ties and as the programme expands, these events represent a pivotal step forward in creating a stronger, more supportive framework for the communities we serve.”
