Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust recently welcomed Pat McFadden, MP for Wolverhampton South East and Councillor Olivia Birch from Wolverhampton City Council to Penn Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Pat and Olivia were met by Trust Chair, Jeremy Vanes, before taking part in a tour of Meadow Ward which was led by Nurse Melissa James.

They took part in discussions with staff around the ICB and health inequalities within the Black Country.

The visit came as the Wolverhampton South East MP wanted to gain knowledge of the ICB changes and mental health in general which affects every MPs caseload.

Speaking after the visit, Pat McFadden said: “Every MP hears about the strains and pressures mental health issues can cause their constituents. That’s why access to good quality treatment is so important.

“I was pleased to be able to visit Penn Hospital to meet staff there to talk about the work done by the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.  This is a very important facility for the local community and an integral part of the mental health service available to local people.”
