As an organisation, we have decided to risk assess ALL of our staff, including those who we know are working from home. This is so we can make any necessary adjustments to ensure the health and safety of everyone across the Trust.
The risk assessment will enable you to determine both an individual risk level and also a workplace risk level for each member of your team.
It will be your responsibility as a manager to arrange to meet with your staff and conduct the risk assessment – this should be completed by Friday 19 June.
To assist you in completing the form, we have produced a video (below) which takes you through the process step by step. We have also developed a set of FAQs which will provide you with some further useful information.
Members of our workforce and HR team will also be hosting a number of drop in sessions on Microsoft Teams to enable you to raise any questions you may have.
These will take place on:
Wednesday 3 June – 10.30am
Thursday 4 June – 6pm
Wednesday 10 June – 10.30am
Thursday 11 June – 6pm
Wednesday 17 June – 10.30am
Thursday 18 June – 6pm
If you wish to attend a session, please e-mail bchft.communications@nhs.net and confirm the date and time you would like to attend – we will then forward a link for you to join the session.
Once you have completed the form, it should be saved in the employee’s personal file and e-mailed to bchft.covidriskassessment@nhs.net – you should also update ESR to show that the assessment has taken place. Guidance on how to do that is attached to this e-mail.
We recognise that national understanding of COVID-19 continues to evolve and it may be necessary to review our approach and guidance according to any new emerging evidence.
If you have any concerns or questions relating to the risk assessment, please e-mail bchft.hrsupport@nhs.net
